Position Summary

This person will be responsible for

translating business requirements into computer solutions. This is accomplished by understanding the nature of the business

need, developing an appropriate technical design that is harmonious with existing solutions, coding, unit testing, and

integration testing, documenting, and transitioning changes into a production state. Solutions are advanced with a very high

degree of complexity and may be new or enhancements to existing solutions. This Programmer will be responsible for developing

the plan, estimates and oversee the execution of the task required to meet project requirements. This person will contribute

to architectural designs, including SAP BW 3.0 experience. Responsibilities also include production support of existing

solutions including problem determination, potentially developing a work around for the problem, developing a solution, and

implementing the solution. In addition, this Programmer is expected regularly to proactively offer suggestions to improve

Information Services processes as well as business process improvements. They will mentor less experienced members of the

team.

Requirements

3 - 5 years of directly related experience or equivalent combination of education,

experience and training.
2 - 3 years SAP Business Warehouse (BW) 3.0 experience
Education - Bachelor's degree in

computer science or related field

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under minimal supervision, design solutions utilizing sound

development practices such as structured design, reusability, referential data concepts, and ability to scale.
Develops

technical specifications as described in functional documentation. Review specifications with programmer to ensure correct

understanding of function and delivery timescales.
Under minimal supervision, utilize sound coding techniques to enhance

performance, stability, reuse, and ease of support.
Perform thorough testing as part of the appropriate software

development life cycle, which should include unit, integration, regression, destructive, and volume testing. Test plans as

well as test scripts may be required.
Create user, design, and support documentation as required. User documentation may

include user manuals or integrated online help. Design documentation may include proposed solution options with pros and

cons, ERD, DFD, and data models, pseudo code, and data maps to interfaces. Support documentation may include excerpts from

design documents, error code definitions, and operation procedures to handle exceptions or start, stop, recovery situations.

Troubleshoot technical problems reported by application users. Correct problems once identified and work with users to

ensure satisfactory resolution.
Regularly notify direct manager and indirect management (project manager) of work

progress and escalate potential problems immediately.
Ensure all solution designs meet Fossil architectural guidelines.
